O'Connell Street was widened on its eastern side in the 1920s. This, and the following two photographs of O'Connell Street in this gallery by Winkelmann, were all made on the same day, 21 March 1921. Perhaps Winkelmann was aware of plans to widen the street and sought to document it before the demolitions began.
