The Victoria Street intersection is at centre. The building left of centre (three-storey in the Muir and Moodie picture, six-storey in the 2025 view) was designed by architect John Currie in 1899 for the Direct Supply Company. In 1910 John Court opened his department store in the building and in 1916 added three stories in the same style. (From the Auckland Council guide Auckland City Heritage Walks).
