Showing the premises of T. & S. Morrin and Co., ironmongers, on the eastern side of High Street near Victoria Street.
The timber building at left in the old picture marks the point a little north of Durham Street East where High Street – already a pretty narrow affair back then – narrowed even further. A Winkelmann photograph of High Street from 1905 showing this narrowing, and a glimpse of the Morrin building, can be seen here.
